We enjoy summer camping, but there is something about fall camping that is so much better. Here are some of our favorite reasons to camp in the fall.
- The cool crisp air in the mornings, enjoying a fresh cup of coffee.
- A campfire at night with family and campground friends.
- The sunrises and sunsets around the campground are phenomenal.
- Lots of fall campground activities, like pumpkin contests, costume contests, hay rides, etc.
- The rates are usually cheaper.
We are lucky we have so many camping spots and campgrounds in and around the New River Valley. Here are 6 of our favorites:

There is also a really cool website, kind of like Airbnb but this one has campsites. We found a property about 5 minutes from our house located on the New River through this site. The website for camping is called HIPCAMP.
