Parks & Playgrounds In the New River Valley

Who doesn't love a day at the park? We normally have our favorite we love to visit, but sometimes it's fun to explore something new. The New River Valley has an abundance of playgrounds and parks. BLACKSBURG

The Town of Blacksburg Parks and Recreation has 20 parks (over 500 acres) of open space for the public to enjoy for active and passive enjoyment.  More Details.  

CHRISTIANSBURG

Christiansburg offers nine parks to enjoy.  Christiansburg Parks Map

GILES COUNTY

Giles County offers numerous parks with a variety of activities available at each. Narrows offers water slide and stream access while some town parks offer tennis and basketball courts, baseball, football and soccer fields and others have paved walking trails, community pools, kids playgrounds and picnic shelters.  More Details

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Montgomery County has several park offerings throughout the County and Villages. Each park is unique in its own way - ranging from small pocket parks to linear biking and hiking trails to 110-acres at Mid-County Park. Swimming, picnicking and shelter rentals offer enjoyment for the whole family. The park picnic pavilions are available for rent April-October.  More Details

PULASKI COUNTY

Pulaski County offers town parks, playgrounds, and ball fields for residents to enjoy.

RADFORD

Radford offers an abundance of outdoor recreation such as boating, mountain biking, canoeing, and biking. 

VIRGINIA STATE PARKS

Visit one of Virginia's 36 State Parks- many close to the NRV!  More Details
