3 DIY Projects to Celebrate Backyard Pollinators

October 6, 2020

Welcome, Hokie BugFest Families!  NRV Macaroni Kid is delighted to participate in the festival again. We've attended the festival numerous times and helped children make a number of bug-themed crafts, and this year, we'll provide the inspiration for creating 3 DIY projects you can create at home!  Our theme is pollinators. Pollinators are Mother Nature's most essential workers. They are responsible for bringing us much of our food and sustaining our ecosystems and natural resources by helping plants reproduce. We can honor these creatures with projects that can encourage them to move into your own backyard, and celebrating them with recycled art and event an adorable and yummy treat!

Here are 3 things you can do at home to celebrate bees, butterflies, and other backyard pollinators.

"Bee-Day" Party Cake Pops

Not only do kids enjoy handheld foods, but these adorable bite-sized treats make for an impressive centerpiece as well.
