Description

Hike along the shoreline of Fairy Stone Lake and discover how the Civilian Conservation Corps created the lake and other park features as they helped to bring our country out of the Great Depression. Explore the secrets of several wildlife species which share the environment with us. A short discussion about Philpott Lake will be conducted at the end of the trial at the Fairy Stone Dam Spillway. The trail is approximately one mile long with steep elevation changes. 967 Fairystone Lake Dr., Stuart, VA 24171.
Amphitheater Trailhead 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Join us at the Mayo River Trails to explore the future Mayo River State Park. You will also discover some interesting facts about local wildlife, the history of the Native Americans who once inhabited the area, and about the exploration of the area by William Byrd. The trail is approximately two miles long and is of moderate difficulty.  12:00 - 2:00 PM

This is a FREE parking day for all Virginia State Parks.
