Journey to Yellowstone National Park, a 3,500 sq mile (9,000sq km) wilderness in the heart of the Northern Rocky Mountains. Yellowstone is the heart of one of the planet’s most intact ecosystems, and sits atop one of the world’s largest active volcanoes. Here we see the surface expression of that volcanism in the form of geysers, hot springs, mudpots and fumaroles, and have a chance to remember we are truly on a living, breathing planet!

Though it was the geologic wonders that set Yellowstone aside as the world’s first National Park, the park is now known as a wildlife haven, one of the last places in the world to have all of its pre-colonial mammal populations, including large predators like grizzly bears and wolves.

Lesser known is the 11,000-year history of humans on the landscape, the creation of the National Park Service, and the incredible amount of science and fundamental human knowledge that comes out of Yellowstone.

Join Ashea, your Yellowstone guide of 25 years for a journey around the “Grand Loop” road system to explore the highlights, take in the sights, and hear fantastic tales of the oldest National Park in the world!
