Claytor Lake State Park presents the 2021 Season. Open Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
Claytor Lake State Park opens it's beach front and public swimming access for swimming, playing and sun bathing. Both the snack bar and beach will be open with lifeguards on duty.
Typical hours are 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM during the weekdays and 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM during weekends.
Lifeguarded swimming cannot be guaranteed due to circumstances beyond our control such as staff shortages or inclement weather. Swimming fees are only applicable when the Claytor Lake Beach has lifeguards. When the beach is unguarded, no swimming fee applies.
In addition to the swimming fees for beach access, guests will also have to pay the Virginia State Park parking fee which is $7.00 per vehicle.
