Power Zone is the leading full-service supplier of equipment, parts and repair service for gasoline and battery powered lawn maintenance, tree care, and construction tools in the New River Valley of southwest Virginia. We are located near Virginia Tech, Radford University, New River Community College, as well as many manufacturing and technology companies located in and around the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. The New River Valley is highly ranked as a retirement destination and is home to over 160,000 residents.
Power Zone was founded in 1997 with the acquisition of Danny's Repair Shop in Pembroke, VA. Danny's Repair Shop started in an 11 x 11 shed with Danny St. Clair turning wrenches and running the cash drawer out of his pocket. Jim Higham met Danny in 1990 when he started buying parts and equipment from the repair shop for the lawn maintenance company he ran with a college friend. Six years after that meeting Danny said, "You need to buy this place or I am closing the gate and going to Florida for good." So Jim joined forces with two of Danny's employees, Duke Lucas and Peter Clouse, and officially formed The Power Zone, Inc. on Jan 1, 1997.
They operated ten years at the original Pembroke, VA location, when a merger with All Seasons Lawn and Garden prompted a move to Christiansburg, VA. All Seasons was owned by Glenwood and Donna Martin who had purchased Sower's Machinery Co., Inc. in 1978. Sower's Machinery Co., Inc. was originally founded in 1950 by J.C. Sowers.
Power Zone operated out of the former All Seasons location under the name Power Zone - All Seasons for seven years before finding a new five acre home at 2700 Roanoke Street in Christiansburg, VA in 2014. The property was formerly a Harley-Davidson® dealership and will better serve the growing needs of Power Zone and its broad customer base for years to come.

All of our yard equipment is from Power Zone (mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blower....lots of stuff). Jim and his team are wonderful to work with - knowledgeable, customer-focused, and attentive with communication. When I had a charger go bad and the supplier wouldn't/couldn't replace or repair it, Jim got creative to get it fixed for me, free of charge. They really go above and beyond! And when you make an appointment for service/repair, they are quick and efficient and get things turned around as promised. There's no reason to go anywhere else!

Purchased a new toro 3000 last year excellent customer service, took time to show me everything you could think of, answered all my questions and showed me how to do the maintenance myself never felt rushed. I have even called and ordered parts from them and they shipped them to my door. Never had a bad experience with them. Very professional, would recommend to anyone!
