Radford University Planetarium Hosts Eclipse Totality Event 4.8.2024

April 4, 2024

On Monday, April 8, from 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM, the Radford University Planetarium will be coordinating an Eclipse Event for Radford University and the New River Valley. This event will be centered around the Planetarium and the lobby area of the Center for the Sciences. This will include parking lot C, where we will have solar-viewing telescopes and other means to safely view the eclipse. We will have eclipse-themed planetarium shows every 30 minutes starting at 1:30 PM; the Museum of the Earth Sciences will be open throughout the afternoon; and we will have 1,200 pairs of eclipse glasses to give away to event attendees. There will be other activities and various information posters displayed in the lobby area throughout this event.

Please note that Parking Lot C will be blocked off for this event for the telescopes; no vehicles will be able to park in this lot on April 8.

Free parking for the Eclipse Event will be in Lots E, FF, and Z (since Radford University is in session and we can't close off other parking lots). Please arrive early enough to either take the ~10-minute walk over University Drive Bridge to the Planetarium, or catch the Radford University Transit (Route 10) to the stop in Lot A or Lot GG https://radford.passiogo.com/
