As a local business, we understand the importance of teamwork. We could not do what we love if it were not for all of you. I had a distant friend tell me last week that someone had told her about this amazing resource she had to check out. When she did she found out I was the Publisher. It made me extremely proud but sad at the same time. How many of our community members with children are unaware these resources on our website exist? Then she told me that she would make sure to share it with all her mom friends. So I wanted to reach out to our readers and ask if you would mind doing the same?

- Macaroni KID New River Valley's website and newsletter are FREE resources because of the businesses that sponsor our site. Some do it through guides, some have yearly sponsorships and others purchase articles to share information and or events.
- Our local businesses are what keep our community unique and thriving. I saw a Facebook post in Everything Blacksburg last week that left me feeling confused. A lady had questioned why a local business was permanently closed and expressed her disappointment. Thankfully they were only closed for the day, but it was a great time to mention on that post that shopping local keeps families fed, clothes on their backs, and our community thriving. A big box store does not notice as much if you spend $50 in their store but if you spend $50 in a local store it is food, gas, electricity and more for a local family. We urge you to shop local and help keep our small businesses open.
