2023 YMCA Healthy Kids Day

April 29th from 10 AM - 3 PM

April 12, 2023

The YMCA at Virginia Tech invites families to join us in celebrating YMCA’S 31st annual Healthy Kids Day®! Healthy Kids Day® is the nation’s largest health-focused day for children, hosted in nearly 2,000 YMCA’s across the country. True to our mission of advocating youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the YMCA at Virginia Tech is committed to improving the health and well-being of families through active play and educational activities. The primary goal of Healthy Kids Day® is to develop a sense of health and well-being, especially that of children, within the local community. Here at the YMCA at Virginia Tech, HKD® provides a great opportunity for you to learn about the resources available to help plan and prepare an engaging summer for your kids. As a child grows and fulfills their true potential, we believe they will make the world a better place for everyone. When a child is healthy, happy, motivated, and excited, something amazing is inevitably going to result. Along with Healthy Kids Day, we will also be having our Fabulous 4Miler at 9am and a 1-mile Fun Run at 10:30am, don’t forget to register for these races on our website at https://vtymca.org/healthy-kids-day/

Healthy Kids Day® is a free “super kick-off” event consisting of music, games, healthy snacks, crafts, and educational activities for families. Local organizations will also be promoting various summer programs and activities that are perfect for kids. The event will be on April 29th, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, and will be located on the field and tennis courts between Cassell Coliseum and the YMCA Lancaster House on Washington St. Blacksburg. Our rain date for the event will be April 30th! All parents must check-in with our volunteers at the registration desk. Free parking is available on campus during the weekend. So, come on out to this free event where any and all families are welcome! We hope to see you there!
