Around the Valley 12.01.22

Happy Thursday, we hope you are having a great week. We had a wonderful thanksgiving with lots of family events and ate until we felt we would explode, then continued eating. I was so grateful to spend quality time with my extended family. We also enjoyed shopping local on Friday & Saturday. Since Saturday, life has gotten a little crazy around here. On Sunday, my son was horse playing with a friend in our hall. While they were locked in an embrace my son's back to this boy's front trying to wrestle, my son lost his balance and fell face first on our hardwood floor. My husband was there and said immediately he heard the unmistakable sound of bones breaking. Logan suffered a broken nose and a concussion. We will find out today if he will need surgery for his nose.

Then today, while I was busy laying the child I babysit down for a nap, my son decided he was going to make me a gift using a carving knife and wood. He has been spacey all week due to the concussion. Guess what? Yep, you guessed it he cut himself and needed stitches. Velocity Care is apparently only by appt now and Med Express you must be in the parking lot to call then they will work you in. It was over a 2 hour wait at ME. Is it the weekend yet? Does anyone know where I can go to tap out for a couple of days? Love this boy of mine, but he needs a bubble this week. So while I did my best with the Holiday Events in the New River Valley Guide it will need some work this weekend.
