Happy Thursday, we hope you are having a great week and Happy Thanksgiving! I feel like yesterday we were taking down our Christmas tree in January and here we are again with the holidays approaching. Now is a great time to show our gratitude by giving back to our local community in some way. Rather it be shopping local, assisting at a food/homeless shelter, picking up trash in your community, or shoveling a neighbors driveway. There are many ways we can help each other and show support to the New River Valley.
I am a member of many local Facebook groups, in one the other day I saw a post that had me pausing to think how can I help. I would like to share the post with you, our readers.
" Support local this holiday season"
A right move in the decision not to have these players play in the VT/UVA game. It is a tragedy and much healing is needed. Still, we need to consider this a hard hit for our merchants, farmers markets, restaurants, and lodging in the New River Valley. I urge, no beg, all to eat out, holiday shop local, and even consider a staycation to support and preserve our community. This upcoming weekend has been planned for a while by many businesses and financially counted on. Don't forget our local business families. UVA is in our thoughts and prayers.
