News from The Floyd Country Store

August 25, 2021

Over the past few months, we have been actively planning for what we hoped and expected would be a much more normal fall of performances, dances, workshops, and fellowship at The Floyd Country Store. Despite our hopes for normalcy, we can't ignore current alerts from national and local health officials. Floyd County is now classified by the CDC as a substantial infectious zone, and we take this very seriously and want to make sure our family of staff, customers, and performers are safe. Here are some updates concerning health and safety at The Floyd Country Store:

Upcoming Live Events

All of our events are currently still happening, with many moving to an outdoor setting such as the new back porch or the lower backyard of The Floyd Country Store. Please stay tuned to our website and social media pages for updates. The decision to move events is made with guest musicians, staff, and guests in mind. We ask that our guests each consider their own health and safety when making plans to attend an event at our Store. If you have concerns about COVID and decide not to attend an event, we will honor requests for refunds for purchased tickets (send an email to info@floydcountrystore.com).

Tonight's Cajun Fais Do Do will continue inside the Store, and we will decide if we can move this week's Friday Night Jamboree outdoors (stay tuned for updates). Saturday's Carter Stanley show with Gary Reid will take place on our back porch, as well as Sunday evening's show with Jake Blount Band. Lonesome River Band on September 11 and Bruce Molsky on September 18 will also take place outdoors as weather permits. As the Floyd Radio Show is more complex, we will make a decision on that event soon.

Be sure to check our website and social pages for updates on events.

Mask Wearing

Currently, the CDC recommends that masks be worn indoors, whether or not you are vaccinated. While we encourage that our patrons stay safe and healthy and take the guidelines of our local health officials seriously, we are not requiring all guests to wear masks at this time. However, we do require that all unvaccinated patrons wear a mask to protect themselves, our staff, and musical guests. Since we don't ask to verify proof of vaccination, please be responsible and mask up if you are unvaccinated. The safer we are, the sooner we can get back to more normal community activities that we all miss so much!

We greatly appreciate our community and we thank you for being a part of it. The Floyd Country Store is here to stay, but only because of the support from our friends, patrons, and community. Thank you!
