January 15, 2020

Keeping active during the winter can sometimes be a challenge. But families can have just as much fun outside during the winter as we do in the summer months. Winterplace Ski Resort is all about family fun for all ages. Winterplace uses a specialized instructional program that provides the best learning environment for children to learn to ski and snowboard. SkiWee & Snow Explorers programs use a group format dividing children by age and ability, along with the widely recognized game-changing Terrain Based Learning methodology.

Winterplace's SkiWee & Snow Explorers Program is a really big, fun time for the youngest skiers and riders in the family, ages 4 through 12.  Tickets, equipment, helmet, supervision, instruction, lunch, snacks and LOTS OF FUN are all included. Group sizes range from 4-8 children per instructor. SkiWee & Snow Explorers emphasizes having fun while learning.  We want your child/children to love the sport! Reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance, but if space allows, late reservations will be permitted.  To learn more, visit HERE.

Do you have a child in 4th or 5th grade? The West Virginia Ski Areas Association announced a new program that allows children in the 4th or 5th grade to ski or snowboard for FREE. All of West Virginia’s ski areas, including Winterplace, accept the association’s Ski Free 4th and 5th Grade Passport Program. The Passport Program is designed to introduce 4th and 5th graders to the sports of skiing and snowboarding at West Virginia Ski Resorts. “This is a great age for children to learn a new sport with ease and to excel rapidly,” says Terry Pfeiffer, President of the West Virginia Ski Areas Association and President of Winterplace Ski Resort. “Through the Passport Program and on-mountain experiences, the youngsters will enjoy the outdoors of the mountain state.”  The program required a $25 administrative fee which includes a complete package (lift ticket, rentals, and lesson) plus additional lift tickets. You can learn more about the Passport Program HERE

Winterplace Ski Resort also offers other Learn-to-Ski/Snowboard packages for everyone in the family as well as West Virginia’s Largest Snowtubing Park. For additional information and pricing on all packages please check the Winterplace website or call 1-800-607-SNOW(7669)!
