Around the Valley 4.25.19

By Jennifer Chasse April 25, 2019

Did you enjoy the long weekend, neighbors? It was deliciously low-key and pretty lazy for me, with the right amount of downtime and poking around!  The weather was not cooperative for the hike we planned, but we took Aunt Jody to the Farmer's Market where she bought some fun prints from local artist George Wills (yoga veggies, anyone?)  And we enjoyed a meal at Palisades, which she loves and always tries to visit when in town. And we played cards, and went to the mall where we stopped into Paint n' Fun and created some pieces including these sweet little gnomes for our garden. She's making plans to meet us at the Chantilly Farm Bluegrass and BBQ Festival May 24 and 25.  Do you have your tickets?

Speaking of the garden. My flowers in the ground seem to be happy and off to a great start! Meanwhile, all my seeds in planters did not have enough drainage and drowned the poor things. I've started again with some, and I'm determined to get some wildflowers going this year! There is debate over if there are one or two bears roaming our neighborhood on Brush Mountain lately, so I've decided this is not the year for a bird feeder since I'll never remember to take it down each night!

This week there are some great family events, so dig into the calendar and make yourself a short list of possible events to enjoy.  And be sure to enter to WIN a vacation at Jellystone Park of Natural Bridge while you're there!

Thanks for reading, and see you around the valley!
