St. Mary's Little Angels offers Preschool and Parent's Morning Out programs serving children 18 months-5 years. We provide safe and loving childcare and prepare preschool-aged children for entry into their elementary education.
Our curriculum is designed according to the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) developmentally appropriate practice and is teacher-directed with modifications to accommodate each child's learning style and rate of skill acquisition. Curriculum plans include music, group time, learning centers, snack and lunch time, and outdoor play. Children are encouraged to develop self-help skills, to problem-solve and to make decisions that help build their self-esteem and confidence. Special activities, including field trips, are also planned throughout the year. We follow the guidelines of the Virginia Department of Social Services as a religiously exempt program operated by a religious institution.
Little Angels is a 9-month program that runs from September through May for 4 hours daily, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Preschoolers have the option to participate in our Afternoon Program till 3:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for an additional fee. Preschoolers have a 3 day per week option (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) or a 5 day per week option. PMO children may attend 2-5 days per week.
Little Angels welcomes all children regardless of background or religion. By the time children enter kindergarten; our hope is that they have begun to develop a personal relationship with God and to form dispositions toward the world and attitudes toward worship that will last a lifetime.
