Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. invite you to Downtown Halloween Happenings on Friday October 31st!

The merchants of downtown Blacksburg, and the Blacksburg Police Department are ready to welcome you for the safest and happiest Halloween ever in the downtown area!

This year the Blacksburg Police Department will be launching two new, year round campaigns for the town- Blacksburg Be Safe (a K-12 initiative) and No Hokie Left Behind (College age initiative).
College Avenue will be closed from 2pm on Friday October 31 and will reopen on Saturday Nov 1.
Blacksburg Police will host a booth on College Avenue to pass out candy, glow in the dark bracelets and stay safe information from 4pm- 2am.
Fraternity members are working with the police to provide additional safety during the Trick or Treat session. Extra Police Officers will also be located downtown to assist in traffic calming and safe crossing.
Bright yellow caution tape will be attached to the lampposts along the west side of Main St between College and Roanoke to prevent people stepping off the side walk into traffic. The Fraternity volunteers will all be wearing the bright safety vests and they will assist with crossing Main Street at the Lee Street and Jackson Street pedestrian crossings.
