Do Something Great Day

August 28, 2014
Saturday, September 20th is Macaroni Kid Do Something Great Day and publishers around the nation will be leading community projects. We can't think of anything greater than helping feed hungry children and supporting the organizations that tackle hunger, and NRV Macaroni Kid will be at the Kiwanis Wilderness Trail Festival 9/20 collecting donations on behalf of Micah's Backpack. Micah's serves 280 local kids each week and we hope you enjoy the festival and stop by our booth with your child-friendly donations and learn more about Micah's. Other ways to support Micah's include hosting a food drive, volunteering and making a financial donation. Suggested food donations to bring 9/20 include applesauce & fruit cups, granola bars, oatmeal packets & chicken noodle soup. Thank you in advance for your support!

Other Do Something Great Day events include an anti-bullying workshop hosted by our sister site  Roanoke Macaroni Kid. You're invited to join in at Star City Skate from 10 to 1 and you can learn more here. Across the nation programs will include a child services room makeover, diaper drives, and building care packages for homeless veterans.  What a pleasure it is to be part of such a great initiate!
