Radford, VA-The Radford Public Library invites you to celebrate local authors on Saturday, July 12th on the grounds of Glencoe Museum, 600 Unruh Drive in Radford. Readings, storytelling, children’s activities and music are the main attractions for this inaugural event scheduled from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Readings by well-known authors Charlotte Rogan and Jan Neuharth, storytellers Bill Lepp and Wally Scott and musical performances by the Java Brothers will be featured.
Glencoe Museum will serve as the perfect backdrop for the day as over 20 authors give presentations and workshops. A sampling of topics scheduled includes Women and Stories, Stories of Appalachia, Stories of the Outdoors and more. A complete lineup of the day can be found at www.radfordpl.org.
An author tent will be set up and authors will be available after their presentations. Books will be available for purchase and signings.Scheduled authors include:

Glencoe Museum is the home of Gen. Gabriel C. Wharton and Anne Rebecca Radford whose father was Dr. Radford, the City’s namesake. The museum will be open for tours and features period furniture and exhibits of Mary Draper Ingles, the Trigg Site (Native American site in present day Bisset Park) and historical Radford displays. There is no charge for admission to the festival or the museum.
The festival is sponsored in part from the generous contribution of the Jean Rockwell family and friends Dorothy Arthur and Linda McGee.
