I have to admit that when my daughter said she wanted to train for the Kids TriAthlon I started to panic that I'd have to take her running. Happily, instead she has been enjoying Youth Triathlon Camp where 3 days a week she trains kid-style with Anne and team of experienced athletes from TriAdventures. If you have been reading a while, you might remember they offered a giveaway on Macaroni Kid a while ago, and Rebekkah won it, rocked it, and even wrote about her experience. The youth Tri event is Sunday, July 13 at 8am at the Blacksburg Aquatic Center and you're invited to help cheer on the athletes.
Last weekend my family drove to the Greenbrier Classic for some world class golf and grounds viewing plus Maroon 5 at the Fairgrounds. Good BBQ at When Pigs Fly -where Jimmy Buffet stopped in to eat the next day- and exploring downtown Lewisburg rounded out the trip. Lewisiburg was named one of the coolest small towns on 2011, and is home to the Lewisburg Chocolate Festival, next scheduled for April 11, 2015. Add this easy day trip to your bucket list.
