Come Celebrate Winter and Awaken the Christmas Season! An intimate listening room style concert by singer songwriter Leslie Brooks will be held at Blue Ridge Rock School in Christiansburg on Sunday, December 8 at 7 pm.

This soul-edged jazz/folk/rockin'country singer-songwriter originally from Kentucky now resides in Virginia. She has played selective venues in over 16 states in the US as well as performances
in Monte Carlo and Norway. Her songwriting has taken her to Kerrville,Texas as a Newfolk Finalist in '94 and '95 and on to win The W.B.Stevens/Townes Van Zant award in '97 . Leslie has produced five discs in eclectic genres. While in Texas she opened for Asleep At The Wheel
& Willie Nelson promoting a benefit concert raising $35K for Lancaster, Texas, a tornado-stricken town near Dallas; inspiring her song, Twister Alley, co-written with partner,
Ray Roberts. The pair helped develop the Amber Alert program and wrote another tribute song, Not my Child, dedicated to victim Amber Haggerman. Her latest collaboration with Roberts, "Virginia Where Heaven Touches Earth" is being considered by the Virginia House of
Delegates (Bill #988) as the new State song. She was interviewed on Studio Virginia , WVTF, public radio, playing the ballad and other original works in Feb of 2008. Leslie has raised awareness and funds for the Preservation of Stadium Woods by performing benefit concerts
and penning the tribute What On God's Green Earth Are They Thinking? She performs solo and with select musicians covering a wide spectrum of cover music too. She and her duet partner, vocalist Buddy Dryman, sing rich harmony-filled covers by their favorite performing songwriters, The Civil Wars, Brandi Carlile, & Adele. Leslie's disc, My Guitar, is a compilation of self-penned tunes from the Hard To Hide sessions in Dallas along with For Heaven's Sake , My Guitar
and a bluegrass song with lyrics penned together with John LaRocco titled, All Along The Crooked Road. Currently, she is recording her first Christmas record, I Remember December, featuring 10 songs written with Lanae Hall.  For more show listings and cd orders, please view: http://lesliebrooksmusic.blogspot.com
