Around The Valley by Jennifer Chasse

September 22, 2016
Greetings neighbors! The word of the day at my house- every day - seems to be football. If you've been reading a while, you may know I grew up in a NH town without football, and don't understand or the game or it's appeal. I enjoy looking at Tom Brady as much as the next gal, but find it a slow sport to watch, and the pros are in the news too often for the wrong reasons in my opinion.

But my husband loves football. And my son loves football. And I love them, so I'm trying to learn to like football. And with The Boy playing in middle school, he's always at practice or a game, or watching a high school game.  And they are both so happy to have the NFL on TV again. They talk about it and my son collect football cards and knows all this useless information about these players. Last weekend we were lucky enough to enjoy the Virginia Tech game, although it pained me to see Boston College get crushed so badly. Sitting behind us was a sweet but crazy football dad and his young son, who could not have been older than 5 but knew so much about the sport and VT's team I was mesmerized listening to them. And I learned quite a bit! If that small boy can know so much about this game, maybe there's hope for me too.

Do you enjoy a good scare? We've got lots of tickets to the Haunted Graham Mansion to give away, so be sure to be following us on Facebook, and enter in this week's edition of NRV Macaroni Kid. This attraction is not for the little ones- teens and adults please because it is really scary- and the Haunted Graham Mansion is really haunted! You might even leave the younger kids with a sitter and have a fun parent's night out! Thanks for reading, and see you around the valley.
