Floyd Non-Profits Benefit by Gift from Bridge-Kaldro Music

June 30, 2016
At the 6th Annual Bluegrass & BBQ Festival held over Memorial Day weekend, Floyd’s Chantilly Farm announced the winner of a raffle for a Fender acoustic guitar – Don Brooks of Boones Mill, VA.

The guitar was given by Ed and Kirsti Bridge, owners of Bridge Kaldro Music located at 2890 North Franklin Street in Christiansburg (Intersection of Rt. 460 Business & Arbor Drive. 540-381- 8383 www.bridgekaldromusic.com). Bridge Kaldro is a full-line music store and lesson studio.

BKM partnered with Chantilly Farm to stock a merchandise tent with picks, strings and lots of musical loot for purchase by fest-goers – a newly added feature of the festival.
The guitar attracted many people to purchase raffle tickets to support local charities: The Floyd County Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is an all volunteer organization. A portion of the raffle ticket income was awarded to Fire Station #3 located in Check. This will help with operations and day-to-day functions of the Fire Station. A supporter donated a hand-made quilt as a raffle prize, which was won by Leona Turner of Floyd.
FLOYD FUTURE is a non-profit foundation which supports the growth and advancement of Floyd by the enrichment of community, culture and infrastructure. The mission of FLOYD FUTURE is to benefit those who live in Floyd County, and support has been given to local charities and community projects.

Raffle funds received by the foundation will go to support this year’s 10th anniversary of Floyd’s Livestock & County Fair, to be held on September 17th. Learn more at www.floydvafair.com.
