Around the Valley by Jennifer Chasse

May 26, 2016
Montgomery County Schools end Friday, Memorial Day is Monday, and although summer won't officially start for a few more weeks, for parenting purposes we can consider it summer!
I'm wondering when the end of the the school year turned so laborious for parents? With all the field days, trips, parties and ceremonies it's been a little nuts and I'm looking forward to my first weekend home in 5 weeks. I hope to do a whole lot of nothing! And maybe some planting. Or better yet watch someone do my planting. And I might find myself feeling a little nostalgic, wondering where the time went as my youngest "graduates" elementary school. It seems just yesterday she was the most adorable kindergartner ever, and here she is headed to middle school with a certain boy who might share her bus plus a locker decorating plan in mind.
Enjoy the long weekend, find some family fun on our calendar, and see you around the valley. This week inside NRV Macaroni Kid:
